Role Summary
Aubay UK is seeking an IT Business Analyst to join our Energy client’s team within the corporate finance department, as part of a large pensions administration project. You will be responsible for understanding business needs and translating them into functional and non-functional requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders, software suppliers, designers, and developers to ensure that business requirements are accurately captured, assessed, and implemented. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of business processes, previous experience with in-house pensions administration tools and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Required Skills and Experience
- Over 7+ years of Business Analysis experience within IT
- Proven experience in the Pensions administration domain (minimum 3+ years)
- Practical knowledge of Compendia and other pension administration platforms and tools.
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale, bespoke software implementation projects for new platforms.
- Background in a Finance-related discipline.
- Familiarity with a range of IT implementation projects.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on translating requirements into deliverables.
- Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Experience leading business analysis activities in large programmes or strategic initiatives.
- Ability to articulate technical concepts in terms easily understood by business customers.
- Proven track record in generating innovative solutions for complex problems.
- Experience guiding and gaining stakeholder buy-in despite competing objectives.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to adapt to changes during in-progress activities.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Capture business problems, value drivers, and requirements, and translate them into functionalities while assessing risks, feasibility, and impacts.
- Model processes, data flows, and technology to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Create and maintain documentation to communicate requirements, ensure traceability, and manage scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define acceptance criteria, coordinate testing, and validate that solutions meet business needs.
- Lead stakeholder management activities, including facilitating design sessions and guiding interactions with technology vendors.
- Interact with software suppliers, designers, and developers to deliver system and database design elements that meet business requirements.
- Initiate, plan, execute, and control business analysis activities within agreed parameters of cost, time, and quality.
- Propose improvements to support strategic goals and explore new solutions and opportunities.
- Develop business cases to justify solution value and secure approval and funding.
- Stay informed on relevant architectures and technologies and generate innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities.
- Champion business analysis capability development through coaching, best practices, and community engagement.
- Guide stakeholders to gain acceptance/sign-off, balancing competing objectives and adjusting expectations as needed.
