Role Summary
Aubay is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join our global client in the Financial Services sector, specialising in infrastructure, security, and DevOps. This role requires expertise in on-premises infrastructure, networks, servers, and security systems. Your core responsibility will be to manage risks effectively and deliver project outcomes within agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards, ensuring predefined business benefits are achieved. The role will encompass managing two concurrent projects—one focused on transitioning on-premises infrastructure (networks and servers) and another centred on enhancing security infrastructure, including firewalls, security processes, and testing. Join us to take on pivotal projects in a hybrid Agile and Waterfall environment, leveraging your expertise in infrastructure, security, and DevOps to drive exceptional results. This role requires the successful candidate to be onsite in Solihull three days a week; this is a non-negotiable requirement.
Required Skills and Experience
- Prince2 and/or Agile Project Management Certification.
- Over 5 years of experience managing simultaneous complex programmes/projects within Financial Services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects focused on security infrastructure enhancements, including firewalls, testing, and processes.
- Extensive experience working in a matrix management programme and Business as Usual (BaU) environments.
- Strong expertise in on-premises infrastructure, networks, and server migrations.
- Broad knowledge of IT platforms, technologies, and security best practices.
- Understanding of software application development in both Waterfall and Agile environments.
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and motivate others.
- Delivery-focused, with effective problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Excellent risk assessment and management capabilities.
- Outstanding communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven track record in budget control and cost management.
- Familiarity with key legal and compliance regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and tools like Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager (MTM).
Key Role Responsibilities
- Lead projects focusing on transitioning on-premises infrastructure (networks and servers) and enhancing security infrastructure.
- Manage server migrations efficiently, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
- Implement security-focused initiatives, including firewalls, testing, and process improvements.
- Employ a hybrid project management approach, blending Agile and Waterfall methodologies as required.
- Leverage Financial Services expertise to align projects with industry-specific needs and regulations.
- Follow established Project Management Methodology and produce essential project documents.
- Develop and maintain project plans, taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Prepare detailed project reports, including status updates and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure and allocate resources effectively.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing robust contingency plans.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage innovation within the team.
- Adapt management style to project circumstances and team dynamics.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and statutory obligations.
