Role Summary

Aubay is seeking a Business Process Analyst for our international energy client’s team to facilitate transformational change and associated efficiencies around market access, people, processes, and systems across commercial and operating priorities. The team has overarching remits around creating and prioritising the Strategic Roadmap delivery to meet the department's goals and vision. In parallel, it also balances operational change priorities to protect the “licence to operate” through robust change management frameworks. The Senior Business Process Analyst role is to be a ‘best in class’ change specialist supporting strategic and operational initiatives across the Trade Lifecycle from pre-deal to Settlements. The job holder will drive the continuous improvement of the Target Operating Model (TOM) and ensure support to facilitate its timely adoption.

This role will involve significant travel to Doha, Qatar – approximately 50% travel (up to 30 days at a time). We will provide further information about the scope and details of travel requirements during the interview process. 

 

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or technology subject from an internationally recognised university.  
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in commodities trading with leading IOCs, trading houses, NOCs, or vendors in change, process, and technology. 
  • Strong “hands-on” process knowledge from creating data process maps to operational procedures. 
  • Front-to-back office Trade Lifecycle experience. Specialised in one particular area, such as Physical Trading, Cargo Growth, or Portfolio Optimisation. 
  • Product knowledge of Planlogic’s EOS, Veson Nautical's, IMOS and SAP is an advantage;  
  • End-to-end, multi-disciplinary knowledge is required in areas such as commodities trading, shipping and Finance. 
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about technology as an enabler in commodities trading. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills. 
  • Practical experience with agile frameworks, PMP or Prince2 is an advantage. 

 

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Postgraduate Qualification (MSc, PhD or MBA) is an advantage. 
  • LNG experience is highly desirable. 
  • Experience with ETRM tools such as Openlink, Allegro or Salesforce are preferred. 

 

Role Responsibilities  

  • Assist in developing and refining the strategic vision for transformation, aligning it with long-term goals and architecture. 
  • Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that transformation priorities are clear and projects are executed effectively. 
  • Implement change management strategies to ensure that transitions during transformation projects are smooth, well-managed, foster adoption in alignment with the Target Operating Model (TOM) 
  • Champion a continuous improvement culture, particularly through innovation, automation and retrospectives, to improve all stakeholders' efficiency and scalability. 
  • Identify and manage high-risk areas or critical path dependencies to devise the risk mitigation plan and promote its adoption through change. 
  • Cultivate a profound understanding of the business’s mission, market dynamics, regulatory landscape, customer requirements, and trading intricacies, guiding informed decision-making. 
  • Drive forward requirement and process design, factoring in industry best practices and benchmarking. Define criteria for MVP operation, clarifying standard versus bespoke approaches. 
  • Drive the development of an agile delivery organisation alongside IT, helping to develop talent, capabilities, and frameworks to foster a forward-thinking vision. 
  • Assist in defining, refining, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational or transformation objectives. 
  • Support the regular governance and budget reporting to leadership and stakeholders, contributing to transparency, accountability, and value demonstration according to their contribution to performance indicators. 
  • Make project decisions and recommendations with significant impact on the delivery roadmap and operational efficiency. 
  • High degree of autonomy to develop methodology, process tool sets, delivery policies, flexible resourcing models and negotiation tactics for third-party services. 
  • Promote remedial actions to risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure adherence to policies and delivery plans.
