Role Summary
Aubay is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst (Power) to support a critical IT Integration Project in the energy sector. Your role will involve analysing the current IT infrastructure, systems, and processes across multiple entities, aligning them with the future vision of the integrated organisation, and developing comprehensive business requirements for the "to-be" state. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify gaps, and define needs for Power Trading stakeholders while supporting IT development efforts on projects, enhancements, and defect fixes. Additionally, you will ensure a smooth transition of the implementation into the organisation’s standard service and operational models, providing expert guidance on functional specifications and business processes. This role is critical to ensuring the success of the IT Integration Project and will provide an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the organisation's IT landscape, particularly within the Power Trading sector.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of corporate IT experience, with at least 5 years as an IT Business Analyst.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in IT or a related field.
- Proficiency in business analysis techniques and tools, with a deep understanding of both technical and business requirements.
- CCBA or PMI-PBA certifications preferred. CBAP certification is advantageous for those seeking a long-term career path in IT Business Analysis.
- Strong experience in Agile project methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with the current and future technology landscape, integrated solutions, and a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
- Systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving, with attention to detail and a user-centric perspective in IT development.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Power Trading, with a comprehensive understanding of Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) systems.
- Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to stakeholders.
- Comprehensive understanding of business process improvement and risk management practices.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Achieving CBAP certification is ideal for candidates who wish to stay on the IT Business Analyst career path.
- Proven ability to develop trust and create opportunities for stakeholders to feel valued and engaged.
- Awareness of competitor IT solutions in Power Trading, applying industry insights to projects.
- Involvement in industry BA activities and the ability to contribute new best practices to the team.
- Strong background in ETRM systems, with Power Trading experience being highly desirable.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Analyse existing IT infrastructure, systems, and processes to assess alignment with the future integrated state of the organisation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements for both integration and the end-to-end platform for the South.
- Identify and define business needs for Power Trading stakeholders, helping to resolve business problems and propose IT solutions.
- Aid IT development efforts by contributing to project tasks, enhancement requests, and defect resolution, including impact analysis, solution design, and test plan execution.
- Support the transition of the project implementation into the standard operational model, adhering to service management guidelines.
- Lead stakeholder management activities, ensuring stakeholders feel valued, engaged, and aligned with the project’s objectives.
- Act as a SME for functional specifications, user stories, and business process improvement, resolving issues and defects as they arise during test cycles.
- Participate in relevant industry activities, such as IIBA webcasts and chapter meetings, applying learnings to the project and sharing best practices within the organisation.
