Role Summary
Aubay seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer, who will design, develop, and maintain data visualisations and reports using Qlik Sense. Responsibilities include integrating data, creating interactive dashboards, optimising performance, and collaborating with stakeholders to meet business needs. Key skills involve Qlik Sense, data modelling, scripting, and SQL. You will drive the strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and project execution while coaching and developing your team to ensure a high-performing, motivated project environment.
Required Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of and experience with design & prototyping tools
- Expert knowledge in Qlik Sense & Qlik Cloud Analytics to deliver complex, fast-moving datasets to high value trading teams.
- Expert knowledge of authoring/troubleshooting SQL/Azure/Databricks queries
- Expert knowledge and application of general and tool specific connectivity, data modelling, source data procurement strategies (Database, import/cached), security configuration, performance tuning, usage of right visuals, layout optimisation, mobility, scripting and integrating advanced analytics into visualisation tools
- Knowledge of upcoming trends in tools and technology
- Familiarity with user-centred design and testing methodologies and usability and accessibility concerns.
- Communication Skills to engage technical developers, architects and stake holders
- Good project management and organisational skills
- Self-motivated, very good in taking initiative. Innovative and able to drive junior team members
- Must have experience in working with AGILE, KANBAN methodologies and the ability to run a sprint
Desired Skills and Experience
- Gas/Power Trading knowledge - Short-term trading, physical assets trading (CCGT, Wind, Solar, Battery)
- Risk - Modelling & understanding of risk & risk management.
- Quantitative Skills - Statistical methods to check and investigate numerical data for practical insights.
- Commodity Modelling - Energy (power, gas, environmental products) and meteorology.
- Skilled at one of the following secondary visualisation tools - (at least one of the following – (1) Power BI and Azure Analysis Services (AAS), (2) Spotfire, (3) SAP Analytics Cloud)
- Knowledge of cloud data engineering technologies
Key Role Responsibilities
- Design, build and implement POCs, prototypes and full-fledged UX solutions and strategies
- Communicate with key stakeholders to drive clarification of requirements and to promote UX designs and solutions
- Support the design, e.g., by analysing user journeys and drive towards simplification and automation
- Enable high quality & compelling story telling through creation of strong, simple to understand data visualisations
- Document technical solution design and strategy documentation
- Run quality assessments of counterparts’ design
- Coach and develop other UX analysts
- Adhere to Shell’s Release and Change process
