Role Summary
Aubay is seeking a Junior Analytics Engineer (Qlik Sense) to collaborate with key stakeholders in both business and IT to translate data into compelling and insightful visualisations that drive business decision-making. This role involves designing, building, and implementing analytics solutions while ensuring user-friendly experiences. The Junior Analytics Engineer will support the development of data-driven strategies, contribute to UX design improvements, and create high-quality data visualisations.
Required Skills and Experience
- University degree in an IT-related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in the IT industry.
- Knowledge of and experience with design and prototyping tools.
- Strong expertise in Qlik Sense and Qlik Cloud Analytics, delivering complex, fast-moving datasets to trading teams.
- Proficiency in authoring and troubleshooting SQL, Azure, and Databricks queries.
- Experience in data connectivity, modeling, source data procurement strategies, security configuration, performance tuning, and integrating advanced analytics into visualisation tools.
- Familiarity with user-centered design, testing methodologies, usability, and accessibility best practices.
- Strong communication skills to engage with technical developers, architects, and stakeholders.
- Ability to write clear documentation to support delivery.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience working with Agile and Kanban methodologies.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of gas and power trading, including short-term trading and physical asset trading such as CCGT, wind, solar, and battery.
- Understanding of risk modeling and risk management principles.
- Experience with commodity modeling in energy, environmental products, and meteorology.
- Proficiency in at least one secondary visualisation tool such as Power BI and Azure Analysis Services (AAS), Spotfire, or SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Familiarity with cloud data engineering technologies.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Design, build, and implement POCs, prototypes, and full-fledged UX solutions and strategies.
- Work closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements and advocate for effective UX designs and solutions.
- Support the design process by analysing user journeys and driving simplification and automation.
- Create strong, simple-to-understand data visualisations that enable clear storytelling and business insights.
- Document technical solution designs and strategy documentation.
- Conduct quality assessments of counterpart designs to ensure best practices.
- Adhere to release and change processes, ensuring smooth deployment of analytics solutions.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in tools and technologies to enhance analytics capabilities.
