Role Summary

Aubay UK is seeking an experienced Settlements Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in energy and ensuring accurate and timely settlement of physical and financial LNG transactions. Responsibilities include trade validation, invoice reconciliation, and issue resolution, while coordinating with traders, finance, and counterparties. The role requires strong knowledge of LNG contracts and energy market operations to support efficient post-trade processes. The position involves substantial travel to Doha, Qatar, requiring approximately 75% travel (up to 30 days at a time). Further details about the travel requirements will be provided during the interview process.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience as a settlements analyst within energy commodities trading, with a strong focus on trading and reconciliation. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a strong grasp of programming and numerical techniques. 
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Passion for energy markets and settlements experience. 
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation. 

Key Role Responsibilities

  • To work with the lead and team, handling everyday deliverables 
  • Settlements domain expertise, particularly trading experience covering Shipping and LNG 
  • LNG knowledge price markets (JKM, TTF, BRENT, NBP, HH) 
  • Exposure in understanding LNG contracts and pricing terms 
  • Working experience in SAP system 
  • E2E understanding of both AP and AR converging Accounting Journals 
  • Knowledge on TCP agreements (Time Charter party) to cover Vessel Charter and all shipping ancillary cost settlements 
  • Strong ability to work in VBA files 
  • Not exactly leadership expected, however competence to hold strong collaborations 
  • The role includes working with Front office, Middle office, and other Back-office teams.
