Role Summary
Aubay is seeking a skilled Data Business Analyst with a background in financial services to support our client’s data-driven initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyse data requirements, design data models, and support the development of dashboards and reporting solutions. Your role will bridge the gap between business needs and data capabilities, ensuring insights are actionable and aligned with strategic goals. This role requires the successful candidate to be onsite in Solihull three days a week; this is a non-negotiable requirement.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a Data Business Analyst or similar role within financial services.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data querying, cleansing, and transformation.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Experience working with data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Ability to translate business questions into data analysis and actionable insights.
- Familiarity with Python for data analysis is a plus.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Work within a blended Agile / Waterfall environment, within a team that manages both BAU/Production & Sprint/Project delivery.
- Support the daily monitoring of BAU/Production and action any necessary Change or Incident as required.
- Gather, analyse, and document data requirements from business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data engineers and developers to design and validate data pipelines and models.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
- Perform data profiling, quality checks, and root cause analysis on data issues.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Support data governance and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
