Role Summary
Aubay UK is seeking a highly skilled Business Process Expert to support the continuous optimisation of LNG trading operations and ensure world-class efficiency, compliance, and agility across its front-to-back trading processes. This role will work across departments - including trading, shipping, risk, operations, finance, and IT - to assess, enhance, and align business processes, expanding global LNG portfolios and digital transformation initiatives. This position requires full relocation to the Gulf Region, or candidates must already be based in the Gulf. Further details will be shared during the interview process. Salary is competitive and subject to experience.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5–10+ years in business process optimisation within LNG trading or commodity trading.
- Deep understanding of LNG trading business processes across the full deal lifecycle.
- Familiarity with contract management, scheduling, shipping, risk, and settlement workflows.
- Knowledge of global LNG market dynamics and trading practices.
- Proficiency in business process mapping, analysis, and redesign.
- Experience with methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Business Process Management (BPM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Continuous Improvement frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across departments (trading, shipping, finance, legal, IT).
- Ability to lead workshops and facilitate alignment across diverse teams.
- Experience implementing or upgrading ETRM systems (Energy Trading and Risk Management), especially for LNG or other commodities.
- Familiarity with data governance, automation tools, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Process modelling tools: Microsoft Visio, Figma or similar (e.g., ARIS, Bizagi)
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks for Compliance & Risk Management such as REMIT (EU Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency), EMIR (European Market Infrastructure Regulation), MAR (Market Abuse Regulation)
- Experience aligning business processes with internal governance and risk controls.
- Experience in change management, including: Developing and delivering training programs, Creating SOPs and communication plans
- Driving user adoption of new systems/processes
- Ability to define and track KPIs for process efficiency and effectiveness.
- Experience in reporting, dashboarding, and performance analysis.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Good understanding of LNG trading systems
- Background in consulting, operations, or IT project management is a plus.
- Exposure to digital transformation projects in trading environments.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Process Design & Optimisation: Lead the analysis, mapping, and redesign of end-to-end LNG trading processes, with a focus on efficiency, transparency, and operational excellence across deal lifecycle management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with commercial trading desks, scheduling and shipping teams, finance, legal, IT, and enterprise risk to align workflows and eliminate bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Digitalisation & Systems Implementation: Act as a business lead or SME in implementing or upgrading LNG trading systems (e.g., ETRM platforms), data governance tools, and automation technologies.
- Compliance & Risk Alignment: Ensure processes align with local and international regulatory requirements (e.g., REMIT, EMIR, MAR) and the client’s internal governance framework.
- Change Management & Training: Support the rollout of new tools and processes by developing training programs, SOPs, and communication plans to ensure adoption across the organisation.
- Performance Monitoring: Define and maintain KPIs to track the impact of process improvements and support a culture of continuous improvement.
