Role Summary
Aubay is seeking an experienced Trading Data Engineer with great interpersonal skills to join our team. You will play a crucial role in design, implement, and support data architecture, analytics tools, and modelling capabilities for our client’s Front Office Market Analytics Platform, enabling enhanced market analysis and trading functionality in the global LNG domain. Travel will be required in the first week. This will be discussed further during the process.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a data engineer or front office developer
- Experience working in a trading or financial environment is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Python, C#, VBA, SQL.
- Proven experience in building trading tools and managing large datasets.
- Experience with a range of Azure services, including Infrastructure and Security related services such as Azure AD, IaaS, Containers, Storage, Networking, and Azure Security.
- Practical experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, SQL Database, Synapse, DevOps, Pipeline, etc within the financial industry.
- Understanding of trading markets and related data sources.
- Skilled in Agile development methods and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong communication skills and delivery focus.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Develop tools for data collection via APIs, FTP, and HTML web scraping, including non-standard and non-western language sources
- Implement ETL/ETLS pipelines and data warehousing solutions
- Develop visualisation and reporting tools using Plotly, PowerBI, or bespoke web applications
- Provide technical expertise and support to the wider team in analytics and reporting
- Maintain and support data architecture and processes tailored to QET’s front office LNG trading operations
- Maintain and support structured databases (MS SQL) for global gas and power pricing and fundamentals data
