Role Summary

Aubay UK is seeking a Senior Full Stack Quantitative Developer to join a high-performing team focused on building advanced applications for commodities trading and financial analytics. This role blends hands-on development, stakeholder collaboration and mentoring, with a strong emphasis on Python, Azure cloud and quantitative methods.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in Python application development within trading, finance, or quantitative domains 
  • Strong proficiency with Python numerical libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Statsmodels) 
  • Proficiency in at least one strongly typed programming language (e.g., C#, C++, Rust, Java) 
  • Solid background in Azure cloud development, including security, observability, storage, and databases 
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices: Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, Docker 
  • Expertise in data engineering technologies such as Databricks, PySpark, Lakehouses, and Kafka 
  • Strong grasp of software engineering principles, including test automation and design patterns 
  • Advanced mathematics and quantitative analysis skills, ideally with exposure to financial derivatives 
  • Domain knowledge in energy commodities—particularly LNG, Gas, or Power Trading 
  • Proven ability to translate business and quantitative requirements into scalable technical solutions 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with PnL, Greeks, volatility, partial derivatives, and normal distribution concepts 
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and risk management practices 
  • Ability to lead technical teams in Agile environments 
  • Prior experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to hiring processes 
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
