  • Deep experience in data modelling, including semantic model design, star schemas, and enterprise BI architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and Measure Killer for optimisation and model governance.
  • Strong understanding of GitHub-based version control, CI/CD processes, and general DevOps patterns for BI environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead discussions, influence stakeholders, and work closely with business teams.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with DBT, IBM Data Manager, or broader ETL/ELT practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, intermediate Python, or JavaScript.
  • Exposure to trading environments or energy markets (advantageous but not required).
  • Foundational understanding of data engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with governance topics such as Power BI licensing, capacity optimisation, and workspace administration.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimisation of BI solutions using Microsoft Power BI, advanced DAX, and robust data modelling practices.
  • Build and maintain high-quality semantic models, star schemas, and tabular structures that support scalable analytics.
  • Act as SME across BI, reporting, and multiple IT/data domains, providing technical guidance and bestpractice recommendations.
  • Develop performant dashboards, reports, and datasets using tools such as Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and Measure Killer.
  • Design and enhance ETL/ELT workflows across Snowflake, Azure Databricks, DBT, and IBM Data Manager (where applicable).

  • Support governance practices including version control (GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, Power BI Service administration, licence management, and capacity optimisation.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and advise on optimal use of applications, infrastructure, and reporting platforms.
  • Provide leadership within the team and contribute to shaping technical standards in a Greenfield environment.
