Role Summary

Aubay UK is seeking an IMOS & Freight Test Manager to be responsible for leading testing across a complex, large-scale IMOS implementation, encompassing both vendor-delivered functionality and bespoke, custom-built solutions integrated alongside the core platform. This role requires deep expertise in testing strategy, governance, and delivery across end-to-end freight, chartering, voyage execution, bunker management, financial settlement, and reporting processes, ensuring systems perform reliably under real operational conditions. The successful candidate will work closely with programme leadership, business stakeholders, and vendor delivery teams to provide clear quality assurance, risk transparency, and go-live confidence. The role demands strong judgement, the ability to challenge delivery assumptions when required, and confidence operating at programme leadership level. This is an opportunity to play a critical assurance role in a high-impact transformation, safeguarding business outcomes while enabling a controlled and successful transition to live operations.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Test Manager on large, complex programmes within trading, logistics, shipping, or closely related domains.
  • Strong understanding of freight and shipping operations, with hands-on experience testing chartering, voyage execution, bunker management, and freight economics processes.
  • Experience working on IMOS programmes or similar vendor trading/logistics platforms, including configuration-led implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading system, integration, regression, UAT, and non-functional testing across multiple systems, business units, and user communities.
  • Strong track record of testing custom-built functionality alongside vendor platforms, including scenarios where custom components extend or override standard product behaviour.
  • Experience managing testing across complex integration landscapes, including financial, settlement, CTRM/ETRM, reporting, and data platforms.
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and challenge senior business and technology leaders from a quality, risk, and testability perspective.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure programme environments while maintaining independence of judgement and focus on business assurance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Test Strategy & Programme Governance: Define and own the programme-wide test strategy across IMOS core configuration, bespoke functionality, and all test phases. Establish clear governance, entry and exit criteria, acceptance standards, and go/no-go decision points aligned to delivery milestones and cutover.
  • Large-Scale UAT Leadership: Lead large-scale, business-owned UAT across freight, chartering, voyage execution, bunker management, and freight economics. Ensure scenarios reflect true end-to-end operations, including IMOS and custom-build interactions, and own UAT sign-off and residual risk articulation.
  • Custom-Built Functionality Assurance: Maintain oversight of all bespoke functionality delivered alongside IMOS. Define appropriate test approaches and ensure custom components are fully embedded within system, integration, and end-to-end testing, owning assurance where standard behaviour is extended or overridden.
  • Integration & End-to-End Testing: Own end-to-end testing across the IMOS ecosystem, including financial, settlement, CTRM/ETRM, reporting, and data integrations. Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and control effectiveness across all interfacing systems.
  • Defect Management & Quality Control: Oversee defect management and triage processes proportionate to programme scale. Prioritise issues based on operational, financial, and control impact, and provide transparent quality and risk reporting to programme leadership.
  • Cutover, Go-Live & Hypercare Readiness: Provide testing input into cutover planning and rehearsal, deliver evidence-based go/no-go recommendations, and support a controlled transition into hypercare to stabilise early live operations.
