Role Summary

Aubay UK is seeking a Data Scientist to join an Industrial AI function delivering advanced data science, generative AI, and analytical capability across global business lines. The role focuses on applying cutting‑edge methods to real‑world operational, R&D, financial, and software‑driven challenges. The successful candidate will contribute both as an individual technical expert and as a collaborator within multidisciplinary teams, helping shape data‑driven decision‑making and accelerating the adoption of AI across the organisation.

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Data science expertise with hands‑on application in industry or engineering environments. 
  • Python coding with strong practical experience building analytical models and workflows. 
  • Generative AI knowledge, including model development, evaluation, and integration into business use cases. 
  • Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, AI, or a STEM discipline (mathematics, physics, engineering, chemistry) with 2+ years of applied experience. 
  • Demonstrated awareness of data‑quality dependencies and practical challenges in deploying data‑driven solutions. 
  • Strong communication skills with experience engaging stakeholders at all organisational levels. 
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience in analytics translation or consulting, turning business problems into structured analytical approaches. 
  • Familiarity with experimental design, forecasting, or financial modelling. 
  • Exposure to AI‑driven software development or digital product environments. 
  • Ability to identify new opportunities for data science and AI aligned with business strategy. 
  • Strong collaborative mindset, working effectively with global teams and diverse technical specialists.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Apply advanced data science techniques and generative AI to support decision‑making across operational, R&D, financial, and digital product domains. 
  • Scope, design, and deliver data science and AI projects, including leading smaller initiatives independently. 
  • Provide technical guidance and advisory support to stakeholders across the organisation. 
  • Contribute to improving digital design, modelling, and analytical processes. 
  • Promote data science and AI adoption through internal networks and knowledge‑sharing. 
  • Support the development and enhancement of analytical and AI‑driven software tools. 
  • Collaborate with global colleagues and business partners to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with strategic objectives.
