Role Summary
Aubay UK is seeking an experienced Operational Project Manager to support stabilisation and risk reduction initiatives within a digital employee experience (DEX) and infrastructure-focused environment. This is a 6-month contract role requiring strong operational oversight, service performance improvement, and risk management capabilities. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to enhance system stability, availability, and long-term sustainability, ensuring alignment with non-functional requirements and operational excellence standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in operational project management with a focus on stabilisation and risk reduction
- Strong understanding of service performance, stability, availability, incident and problem management
- Experience managing operational expenditure (OPEX)
- Infrastructure and environment literacy (capacity, resilience, production/non-production environments, change freezes)
- Deep understanding of non-functional requirements (performance, availability, recoverability, supportability) and how to measure them
- Strong analytical mindset to identify root causes and systemic issues
- Executive-level communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, actionable recommendations
- Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Strong governance, risk management, and reporting experience
- Vendor and stakeholder management experience
- Relevant Project Management certification
Desired Skills and Experience
- Degree or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years in IT with 5+ years delivering complex projects (up to $5M, teams up to 20)
- Strong storytelling and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience across cloud, mobile, SaaS, and digital platforms

- Lead stabilisation and risk reduction initiatives across operational environments
- Drive improvements in service performance, availability, and resilience
- Identify recurring issues and lead root cause and problem management activities
- Establish and maintain effective governance, reporting, and risk frameworks
- Define and implement measurable non-functional requirements
- Provide clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources
- Ensure compliance with established project delivery frameworks and standards
