Role Summary

Aubay UK is seeking an experienced Operational Project Manager to support stabilisation and risk reduction initiatives within a digital employee experience (DEX) and infrastructure-focused environment. This is a 6-month contract role, with possible extension requiring strong operational oversight, service performance improvement, and risk management capabilities. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to enhance system stability, availability, and long-term sustainability, ensuring alignment with non-functional requirements and operational excellence standards.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in operational project management with a focus on stabilisation and risk reduction
  • Experience working in energy trading domain
  • Experience working with ETRM/CTRM systems (Endur, Openlink, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of service performance, availability, incident and problem management
  • Experience managing operational expenditure (OPEX)
  • Infrastructure and environment literacy (capacity, resilience, production/non-production environments)
  • Deep understanding of non-functional requirements (performance, availability, recoverability, supportability)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes and systemic issues
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and executive-level communication skills
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Project governance, risk management, and reporting experience
  • Vendor and stakeholder management

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in IT with 5+ years delivering complex projects
  • Experience managing teams up to 20 members
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead stabilisation initiatives to improve operational performance and reduce risk
  • Ensure service availability, performance, and resilience are maintained and enhanced
  • Drive identification and resolution of root causes and systemic issues
  • Establish clear governance, reporting, and risk management frameworks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define measurable non-functional requirements
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders
  • Manage project scope, budget, timelines, and resources
  • Ensure compliance with project delivery frameworks and standards
